The Anglo-Irish Bank bailout has increased to 34.3 billion euros.  Irish tax revenues in 2009 were only 33 billion euros.

Who is bailing the bank out?

The irish government (by borrowing money on international markets).

A hell of a lot of that money came from London (As I understand it, about 220bn is owed by Irish Banks to UK Financial Institutions).

In a sense, we have to be thankful that the Irish Government is not allowing its banks to default.
